Natural teeth consist of the outer crown visible above the gum line and the underlying roots. There is a hollow area within each tooth. Tunnels run down to the tooth root starting from this enclosed space. The pulp is housed inside these hollows, which contain nerves, connective tissues, and vessels. If the infection reaches the soft pulp, Dr. Hill must clean out the entire pulp chamber.
